THE OCEAN | Warszawa

The Ocean are embarking on a cosmic journey with a new album and a refreshed lineup. The band will bring material from the upcoming “Solaris” to Poland this December, performing on December 8 at Hype Park in Kraków and December 9 at Proxima in Warsaw. In both cities, you will also see Psychonaut and Pothamus.
The Ocean return with a brand-new album, “Solaris”, set for release on September 25. Inspired in part by Andrei Tarkovsky’s film of the same name, the record was tracked at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, where iconic albums such as David Bowie’s “Heroes”, Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life”, and Depeche Mode’s “Construction Time Again” were recorded.
The band’s signature blend of atmospheric post-metal takes on a new dimension through a series of lineup changes. Recent additions include drummer Jordi Farré (Crippled Black Phoenix, Dolch), vocalist Lane Shi (Elizabeth Colour Wheel), guitarists Emmanuel Jessua (Hypno5e) and Marco Gennaro, as well as vocalist Enrico Tiberi (Dark Side Bright Side). “Solaris” is a place where fiction collides with reality, while also serving as an invitation to continue the journey alongside The Ocean - into space, but also into the unknown.
At the Kraków and Warsaw shows, Belgian post-metal outfit Psychonaut will appear as a special guest. One of the most exciting and hard-working bands on today’s post-metal scene, their music is enriched by progressive and psychedelic influences. Their latest album, “World Maker”, was released last year.
Opening both evenings will be Belgian outfit Pothamus, whose sound blends sludge and post-metal into a hypnotic and immersive experience. Their second full-length album, “ABUR”, was released last year via Pelagic Records.
