The biggest mohawks and spikes on the American street punk scene? That’s The Casualties! Led by Marc Eggers and Jake Kolatis, the band will return to Poland for three shows: June 10th in Kraków (Zaścianek), June 30th in Poznań (2Progi), and July 1st in Warsaw (Hydrozagadka).
Formed in 1990, The Casualties set out to revive true street punk - raw, rebellious, and unapologetically critical of reality. Musically, they drew inspiration from the UK scene and bands like The Exploited, GBH, The Varukers, and Sex Pistols. The New York outfit blends aggression with catchy songwriting and a strong message - something they felt was missing from many of the newer bands calling themselves punk at the time.
Over the years, many musicians have passed through the band’s lineup, but since the early ’90s, its backbone has remained guitarist Jake Kolatis and drummer Marc Eggers. This year, The Casualties released their first album in eight years - “Detonate,” which also marks their second record featuring vocalist David Rodriguez.
