Cult of Luna will bring their new album “In the Shadow of Your Shadow” to Warsaw’s Progresja on March 12th, joined by experimental post-rock outfit BRUIT and EBM act Youth Code.

There must be something in the air in the Swedish city of Umeå, considering it has produced such distinctive bands as Meshuggah, Refused and, of course, Cult of Luna. The band made a considerable impact with their very first albums, while 2006’s breakthrough “Somewhere Along the Highway” secured their place among the most important post-metal bands of our time. Cult of Luna further cemented that status with a string of outstanding releases, including “Eternal Kingdom”, “Vertikal”, “Mariner”, recorded with Julie Christmas, “A Dawn to Fear” and “The Long Road North”. With each record, the band expanded their sound with new influences ranging from hardcore and sludge to folk and art rock, all held together by an immense emotional weight.
The band’s tenth album, “In the Shadow of Your Shadow”, will be released on November 6. The record is further proof that Cult of Luna are a band that refuse to stand still. It will feature guest appearances from Gojira’s Joe Duplantier and David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand.
In March, the Swedes will embark on a European tour with France’s BRUIT and American act Youth Code. The former take the influence of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and push it through an unconventional approach to composition, experimenting with both form and sound - something clearly demonstrated on their latest album, “The Age of Ephemerality”. The latter inject a healthy dose of rage into their EBM, having returned last year from a multi-year hiatus with the EP “Yours, With Malice”.
